The minibus-semi-trailer crash on the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 5 near Carberry last week has claimed another life.
In a media release today, Manitoba RCMP report a woman, who had been in hospital since the crash last Thursday (June 15), succumbed to her injuries.
In total, 16 people have now died as a result of the collision.
Shared Health says nine patients remain in hospital, including four patients who are receiving critical care. In a media release, “Shared Health and Prairie Mountain Health would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of the patient involved in the collision who succumbed to her injuries yesterday.”
Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm – RCMP plan to release the names of the victims at a press conference attended by Premier Heather Stefanson and First Responders who were at the crash scene – and on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm – a memorial service will be held in Dauphin.
