On the morning of June 22, Brandon police received a report from an employee at an establishment in the 1100 block of 18th Street, stating that they believed an individual was attempting to book a room with stolen identification. In addition, the employee conducted a search of social media for the individual named on the identification, and learned the same person recently had their Subaru stolen. The employee additionally noted the individual that was attempting to book the room to have the same stolen vehicle as on social media parked in the parking lot of the establishment. Police attended the location and verified that the Subaru mentioned had been reported to WPS as stolen approximately 2.5 hrs earlier. A 39-year-old male has been released with conditions to appear in court 2023-08-24 for the charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

On the evening of June 22, police were patrolling the 1800 block of Brandon Avenue when staff from a beer vendor were observed to be in a physical altercation with two individuals. Police arrested one of the suspects as the second individual fled on foot. Nearby witnesses later directed police to a dumpster which the second suspect jumped into in an attempt to evade police. Investigation revealed that two 17-year-old females attended to the establishment and allegedly stole beer, and reportedly assaulted a staff member in the process by knocking them to the ground to assist with the escape. No injuries were sustained by the employee. One of the accused has been released to a guardian with conditions to appear in court 2023-08-01 for the charge of Robbery with Violence. A co-accused has been lodged at BPS to appear in court 2023-06-23 for a charge of Robbery with Violence.
