On July 3, 2023, at approximately 12:17 pm, Brandon police located a Toyota Tacoma MB license plate GXH 997 illegally parked in the 700 block of 19th Street. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight from the Souris area. On July 3, 2023, at 12:30 pm, police responded to a report of an assault. Police say the victim indicated to officers that her partner had slapped her twice in the head and chest. A 28-year-old man was arrested. He was later released to appear in court on August 3, 2023, on charges of assault.

On July 3, 2023, at approximately 7:45 pm, Brandon police received a report of a Break and Enter to a commercial compound in the 4100 block of Richmond Avenue East. Several toolboxes on multiple business trucks were broken into between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm on the same date. Various tools and power tools were taken with “Paddock Drilling” written on them. On July 4, 2023, at approximately 1:50 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue. A passenger of the vehicle was found to be wanted on outstanding charges resulting from a search warrant executed on July 1, 2023. Police say a search of the suspect’s backpack subsequent to his arrest allegedly revealed he was in possession of a sawed-off .22 caliber rifle and a machete. A 33-year-old man was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply Firearms Prohibition x2, Fail to Comply Release Order x3, Fail to Comply Probation x3, Possess Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle, Possess Weapon Dangerous.

On July 3, 2023, at approximately 8:15 pm, a highly intoxicated male attended to Brandon Police Service. He believed that people were chasing him, and he proceeded to activate the emergency button in the front vestibule. Police say the 26-year-old male was in no condition to care for himself and there was nobody else to turn him over to. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 3, 2023, at approximately 9:30 pm, Steinbach RCMP police located and arrested a 45-year-old female wanted on outstanding Brandon Police Service charges of Fail to Attend Court. She was lodged and will appear in court.
