On August 12, 2023 at approximately 11:30 am, Brandon police responded to a report of two individuals stealing grocery items, including meat and cosmetics from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. A 41-year-old male and a 29-year-old female were both arrested. The male was later released to appear in court on October 5, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000, and the female was later released to appear in court on October 5, 2023 on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to comply with Probation.

On July 28, 2023, police received a report of an assault in the 2300 block of Brandon Ave between two male youths. The assault was recorded on video and later posted to social media. Further investigation revealed that the assault had occurred allegedly due to jealousy issues. On August 12, 2023, the 14-year-old male suspect was located and arrested. He was later released to appear in court on September 26, 2023. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault.

On August 11, 2023 shortly before 7:00 am, police responded to a report of a road rage incident. The complainant reported parking in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave when the suspect exited his vehicle and proceeded to kick the complainant’s vehicle causing damage. The incident was recorded on video. On August 12, 2023, police located and arrested the 53-year-old male. He was later released to appear in court on October 5, 2023 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

On August 12, 2023 shortly after 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male getting into a vehicle in the 1800 block of Van Horn Ave and driving it away. The vehicle was located in the 700 block of 19th street, and the driver arrested. He provided two samples of his breath, which police say were more than twice the legal limit. He was later released to appear in court on August 17, 2023 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

On August 11, 2023, police received a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly before 7:00 pm. The individuals reportedly involved left the area prior to police arrival, but investigation revealed that a 43-year-old male had allegedly assaulted a female, and the incident was captured on security footage. On August 12, 2032, police located and arrested the male. He was later released to appear in court on October 16, 2023 on charge of Assault.

On August 12, 2023 shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot in the 200 block of 18th street. When police arrived a number of teens ran away from the area, and several were located nearby. Police say two 14-year-old intoxicated females were arrested. They were lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and will appear in court on October 3, 2023 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Fail to Comply with Release Order respectively. They will also receive a fine for consuming underage. Two other female youths were taken home to their parents.

On August 12, 2023, police received a report of a vehicle stuck in the mud near the Assiniboine River near the 2000 block of 81 street E. The vehicle was found to be a stolen white 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, which was reported stolen on July 243, 2023. The vehicle had sustained damage, and has been towed for Forensic Identification. On August 13, 2023 shortly after 9:00 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 600 block of 6th street. They say a 23-year-old intoxicated female was attempting to climb inside vehicles of customers at a business while they were attempting to get fuel. The female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On August 12, 2023, police located and arrested a 23-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000. The male was later released to appear in court on September 25, 2023.
On August 12, 2023, police located and arrested a 63-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Appearance Notice and Fail to Attend. She was later released to appear in court in October 2023.
On August 12, 2023, police located and arrested a 25-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Probation. She was later released and will appear in court on October 5, 2023.
