The Manitoba New Democrats have expanded on their election campaign promise to get tough on crime.
Their 5-point plan calls for cracking down on drug dealers – improving bail measures – providing security rebates for homes and businesses – and hiring more health workers to work with police.
They also promise housing and mental health supports.

The Progressive Conservatives, meanwhile, are promising to help parents get more involved in their kid’s education.
In a campaign promise, the PC’s pledge to add more parental rights to the Public Schools Act if re-elected October 3rd. Changes would include the right for parents to be informed about the curriculum – and getting advance notice of any class presentations from outside the school system.

And Doctors in Manitoba hope the political parties will pay attention to their recommendations as the fall vote draws near.
They want to see at least 400 more doctors hired over the next five years – increased hospital capacity – reduced wait times – and expanded mental health and addiction services.
The Manitoba Liberals say their health-care platform closely aligns with what doctors want.
