Brandon councillors will discuss changing the speed limit on Victoria Avenue West at their meeting tonight (Aug 21).
Because of an uptick in pedestrians and cyclists in the area due to increased residential development – staff recommends extending the 60-kilometre-an-hour speed limit further west on Victoria.
Also tonight, council will hear an appeal from the Aurora Family Reunification Centre. They were denied a zoning variance to create a facility at the old Redwood Inn – and they’ll also discuss a program that’ll subsidize homeowners who buy and install security lightning in their back lanes.
