On August 22, 2023, Brandon police received a report of fraud that had taken place at a business in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue. Police say a 60-year-old female suspect had allegedly removed the QR code from an item of lesser value and used it to scan through several other items of greater value. Investigation revealed that the same individual had done this on six other separate occasions. On August 23, 2023, the female was located and arrested. She was later released to appear in court November 9, 2023, on charges of Fraud Under $5000 x7.

On August 24, 2023, shortly after 12:00am, police received a report of a 15-year-old male that was not complying with his 10pm-7am curfew. The male was later located when he returned home and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.
