The Progressive Conservatives are in Steinbach today (Sept 8) where they’re expected to make an announcement on making life more affordable for Manitobans as the provincial election campaign continues.
Both the New Democrats and Liberals are scheduled to make health-care announcements in Winnipeg.
On Thursday, the Conservatives promised financial supports for seniors if they are re-elected October 3rd.
The Tories said they would allow seniors defer some or all of their property taxes, with the money to be repaid with interest when the senior sells their home, and they also pledged a $500 tax credit to help people buy walkers, wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
The NDP, meanwhile, promised to to increase funding by $1-million to recruit and retain nurses, with the focus on hiring more nurse practitioners.
