On the campaign trail over the weekend, the Manitoba Progressive Conservatives promised to increase tax credits for charitable donations from 10.8% to 20% on the first $200 – and for donations above $200 that would jump to 25% from 17.4.
In a media release, PC leader Heather Stefanson also pointed to her government’s $154-million investment for primary care, chronic disease services and addictions treatment in northern Manitoba.
New Democrat Party leader Wab Kinew pledged to hire 100 home-care workers, and promised to set aside $5-million for mileage increases and hiring incentives – while Liberal leader Dougald Lamont vowed to tackle public safety by creating more safe places, enhancing recreation programs for youth and increasing funding for groups like Bear Clan.
The provincial election is October 3rd.
