On 2023-09-14 at 1910 hrs, Brandon police received a report of a Break and Enter to an apartment located in the 300 block of 16th Street.
Police say when officers attended the location the individual who reported the complaint had left the scene, but while police were in the area, a second report was received at 2132 hrs from a homeowner in the 200 block of 16th Street regarding a break and enter in progress.
Police say an unknown male suspect had allegedly entered the home through an unlocked front door and proceeded into the basement while armed with a kitchen knife. Police arrested the individual without incident. No injuries were sustained to any of the involved parties, and police say the suspect was believed to have been intoxicated and hallucinating from methamphetamine.
Officers say the suspect was also allegedly same person who had reported the break and enter at the apartment in the 300 block of 16th.
A 39-year-old man was lodged at BPS and will appear before the court 2023-08-15 for the charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous and Break and Enter.
