On the campaign Thursday (Sept 14), the Manitoba Progressive Conservatives promised more support for the entertainment industry.
Leader Heather Stefanson said they’ll offer a 10% bonus tax credit for film and T-V productions that use Manitoba music for at least half of their project’s soundtrack.
She also pledged $4.5-million to improve sound stage facilities and other services connected to the industry.
In order to attract more film and television productions to the province, the government offered money in 2022 to help WestJet launch direct flights between Winnipeg and Los Angeles.
The provincial election is on October 3rd.
