On October 19, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am, Brandon police responded with Brandon Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) to a report of smoke coming from a residence in the 800 block of 14th Street. The fire was extinguished, and the homeowner was not home at the time. There were no reported injuries, but there is significant smoke damage to the interior. The cause of the fire is unknown, and police continue to investigate.

On October 18, 2023, at approximately 11:00 pm, police were flagged down by an employee of a business in the 2000 block of Park Avenue who observed a male trying door handles at the business. Police searched the area and located a 14-year-old male in a work truck at a second business in the 2200 block of Park Avenue. The male was arrested, and police say he was in possession of the truck keys, break-in instruments as well as property that was believed to have been stolen at a third nearby business. The youth was later released to the custody of a guardian, and he will appear in court on December 19, 2023, on charges of Break and Enter, Theft Under $5000 and Possess Break-in Instruments.

On October 19, 2023, at approximately 5:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a business in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue. A 30-year-old male was found to be in no condition to care for himself, and had no where to go as he was from a rural address. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On October 19, 2023, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a shed in the 200 block of 22nd Street N. Suspects forced their way into the shed over the last several days, but it appeared nothing was taken. On October 18, 2023, police located and arrested a 31-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
