Striking Manitoba Public Insurance workers are to put down their picket signs today and vote on a new contract offer.
If ratified, the contract would put an end to their two month-long strike which began on August 28th.
The Manitoba General Employees Union (MGEU) says the new offer includes a wage increases of 12.2% over four years, and an additional 3.5% wage increase for more than 60 per cent of workers. Full-time employees will also get a one-time, lump sum signing bonus of $1,800, which will be pro-rated for part-time employees.
Union members will vote on the new offer between noon and 6:00 pm with results to be announced this evening.
