The Westman and Area Traditional Christmas Dinner has kicked-off its annual campaign. This year’s dinner will be held at Brandon’s Keystone Centre from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm on December 25th.
In order to prepare for an anticipated 4,000 meals this year, volunteers will begin collecting donations of unwrapped toys, cash and food at Walmart this weekend – and organizers
say more volunteers are needed to help cook and deliver meals. You can head to Supper | Westman And Area Traditional Christmas Dinner to volunteer for an event.
A table collecting donations at the Corral Centre Walmart will also be set-up on November 24 – 26, December 2 & 3 – and December 9 & 10. The annual fundraising breakfast will be held at Brandon University’s Harvest Hall on December 2. If you’re planning on attending the breakfast, you’re also encouraged to bring donations of unwrapped toys and cash.
The dinner has been ongoing since 1985 under the slogan “no one should be alone at Christmas.”
