Manitoba’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin says you are now eligible to receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine three months after your previous shot, instead of six months.
He says the interval between shots has been shortened in response to increased transmission in respiratory viruses in the province.
Roussin says this will ensure all Manitobans have a chance to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine, and will increase uptake in those who are high-risk, including seniors and people living with underlying medical conditions.
According to Manitoba’s weekly respiratory surveillance report, the number of COVID-19 cases has been climbing for the past three reporting periods, with 312 new cases from November 12 to 18.
