On Tuesday, Assiniboine Community College’s Tim Hore said they’re aiming for a September 2027 opening of the $120-million Prairie Innovation Centre for Sustainable Agriculture.
Hore, the college’s Dean of Agriculture and Environment, made the announcement during his “One-of-a-Kind Canadian College” session at Manitoba Ag Days.
He said a recent $10-million donation toward the Prairie Innovation Centre has significantly propelled the project forward.
Hore said after the design is finalized this summer, the tendering process will begin this December with construction to take between 24 and 36 months. Right now, the college is working to secure another $40-million from federal agencies for the project.
He said the Prairie Innovation Centre is poised to become a hub for sustainable agriculture research and innovation, contributing to the economic and agricultural development of the region.
