Manitoba Ag Days wraps up today (Jan 18) in Brandon.
Ag Days general manager Kristen Phillips says “The first two days of Ag Days 2024 were filled with dynamic speakers and interactive panel discussions and covered a wide variety of subjects. Looking forward to Thursday’s program, it is about agronomy. If you want to learn about plant and soil health you’ll have lots of sessions to choose from.”
The FCC Theatre program starts on Thursday at 9:30 am when you can join Edgar Hammersmeister for a session debating To Maximize or to Optimize. At 10:15 am Dr. Don Flaten shares his thoughts on Optimizing P Fertilizer and P Fertility Management on Your Farm. Tim Lang rounds out the morning with a session about your advisory team.
You won’t want to leave early, because the afternoon sessions are farmer-centered. Starting at 1:00 pm Jay Whetter will lead a discussion about the use of variable rate technology and will be joined by three panelists who will share their experiences, insights and lessons learned. Scott Fairburn will round out the afternoon with a session entitled A Customer-Driven Approach to Equipment and will speak about how farmers and ag companies are working together to co-create the next technology for your farm.
If you are interested in soybeans, peas or pulses, the MNP Theatre is the place to be on Thursday morning for the Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers Program. Beginning at 9:00 am there is a full morning of sessions that dig deep into soil, roots and all things happening under the surface of your fields. In the afternoon the focus shifts and we get a bit salty. We have a full afternoon of discussions about salinity from a variety of perspectives. Join us for an afternoon of ideas brought to you by researchers, agronomists and farmers.
Thursday is the last day to see over 550 exhibitors, talk to the 32 contenders in the Innovation Showcase, and see the best genetics from the farms participating in this years’ Bull Congress. Of course, Thursday is also the last day to purchase 50/50 tickets.
