Manitoba’s physicians are back with a fun winter edition of their Getting Healthy challenge, with a chance to win a great prize for taking one simple step towards Getting Healthy this winter. The Getting Healthy challenge, along with advice from physicians about easy steps to get and stay healthy, are available at GettingHealthy.ca – Doctors Manitoba | Getting Healthy
“Winter can be the toughest time of the year to focus on getting healthy, and that’s why we’ve winterized our Getting Healthy challenge with practical tips for living healthier lives and having some fun in the process,” explained Dr. Michael Boroditsky, President of Doctors Manitoba. “At GettingHealthy.ca, you will find winter-friendly advice from Manitoba’s doctors to help you improve your health during this cold season. Everyone who pledges to take one step towards getting healthy this winter will have a chance to win our grand prize of six months of free groceries, a $5,000 value!”
Dr. Boroditsky noted there are also 20 other prizes including YETI rambler bottles and Roots toques and mitts. Manitobans can enter the contest until February 15, 2024. The contest is open to all Manitoba residents and is free to enter at GettingHealthy.ca – Doctors Manitoba | Getting Healthy
Research commissioned by Doctors Manitoba last year found most Manitobans (83%) believe they aren’t doing enough or could be doing more when it comes to physical activity, eating well, improving their sleep, reducing their stress, and/or catching up on immunizations or medical screenings. Manitoba’s doctors created GettingHealthy.ca to offer practical advice for all these topics, to support the 4 in 5 Manitobans who believe they could be doing more to prevent disease and live a healthy life.
This is the second Getting Healthy Challenge organized by Doctors Manitoba. The first, which ran last June, saw nearly 9,000 Manitobans pledge to take a step towards getting healthy. In a survey following the challenge, over 85% said they followed through with their pledge towards getting healthy, and 93% said they were planning to take another step towards getting healthy in the months that followed.
