Environment Canada’s ‘Snowfall Warning’ for Westman including the City of Brandon continues for Thursday, Feb. 8th. Total amounts could hit 10 to 15 cm.
A Colorado low has brought heavy snow to areas of southwest Manitoba. Another 4 to 8 cm of snow is expected today. Brandon, which has already received about 4 cm, is looking at another 2 to 4 cm today.
The highest amounts are forecast over the higher terrain of western Manitoba near the Riding Mountains.
The snow will taper off on Thursday evening into Friday, and is expected to end around noon in the Brandon area tomorrow.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
