Getting construction underway on a new outdoor rink on the Brandon Sportsplex grounds has hit a snag.
The boards, ordered in early January, won’t arrive until the week of March 11th – so, it’s not likely the rink will open this winter.
Meantime, work is expected to start this spring on repairs to the Civic Services Complex – damage was caused by a natural gas explosion last year.

And Brandon city councillors won’t debate the master plan for the airport until March 4th – but they did get some more details this week.
The 20-year plan anticipates increases in air traffic and passengers, and lays out almost $27-million in upgrades including for possible future commercial developments like flight schools and cargo business.
Other improvements include expanded runways and L-E-D runway lighting – also new terminal and maintenance buildings.
