The ACC Students’ Association has historically hosted an annual indoor beach volleyball tournament called ‘Sun of a Beach’. This event brought in hundreds of people dressed in their best beach gear ready for a day of beach volleyball followed by an after party.
After not hosting this event for the last couple of years, the Students’ Association has decided to revive it this year, but with a few changes. “We thought why not bring back this fun and exciting event that will bring students and the community together.” Said Alycia Canada, Vice President of Engagement for the Students’ Association Council.
The resurgence of this event will reignite the spark of excitement that has long been associated with ‘Sun of a Beach’, as well as engage the Brandon and the college community for individuals who want to relive the ‘Sun of a Beach’ nostalgia. This year, the volleyball tournament will be held at Triple Crown Sports on March 23rd, and following the tournament, the party begins at the Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill.
“If you are a current student, alumni, staff or a community member who likes to have a good time, we would love to have you participate in this fun day. My hope is to bring this event back and keep it going and growing for many years.” Said Sydney Huston, Business Representative for the Students’ Association Council at Assiniboine Community College.
