Every once in a while, you’ll read a story about a really overdue library book getting returned. But I think this one is the longest I’ve ever head of a book being overdue…
Two books from a library in Kentucky were returned after nearly 100 years. The first book was checked out in 1924 and the other in 1926. The library doesn’t have late fees anymore, but if they did, this family would’ve been on the hook for more than $7,000.
With the books now returned to the library, they will be stored in a rare book collection.
