We all know “that person” that lies so habitually they probably don’t even know the real truth. Today is Tell A Lie Day so I’m sharing some interesting stats I stumbled across. Did you know people tend to lie more in writing than they do face to face? True story – and that’s because it’s easier to be believable when the person you’re lying to can’t see the expressions and tell tale signs on your face. Apparently people are more trusting of bearded men than they are of clean shaven men. This one baffles me and the only logical conclusion I could come up with is bearded men have a grandfatherly quality and who doesn’t trust Grandpa? Statistics show that people tell the most lies in January, usually because of their broken New Year resolutions. I would suggest the other big time of the year for lying would be fishing season with all the tales of the one that got away.
