Manitoba RCMP report that officers from the Russell RCMP Detachment responded to a collision this morning at around 5:00 am.
It was reported an eastbound CPR train struck a semi-trailer on Highway 16.
Police say it appears the two occupants of the semi-trailer were not injured, and as of 9:00 am the highway was still closed.
There’s no report on whether any of the train cars derailed.
