Brandon’s Community Clean-Up and E-Waste Collection returns on Earth Day this weekend. The event runs from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday, April 20th at:
-Riverbank Discovery Centre
-Lions Memorial Community Park
-Rideau Park
-Stanley Park
The Electronic Recycling Association has teamed up with the Brandon Earth Day Committee to oversee the collection of electronic waste to keep it out of the landfill. All electronics that are gathered will be refurbished and donated back into the community. The ERA says the event is also an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about the importance of proper electronic waste recycling, and how it can benefit the environment and local communities.
Also, any businesses, groups, or non-profits that participate and collect the most garbage by weight will win money towards a charity of their choice OR money back into their own non-profit.
