Theft Of Copper Wire
On April 22nd at 08:50 am, an employee of a business located in the 1100 block of Rosser Avenue East reported that sometime overnight suspects entered the secure compound and stole copper wire valued at almost $5,000. Arrest Warrants
On April 22nd at 11:30 pm, Brandon police attended to Brandon Correctional Center (BCC) and arrested a 36-year-old male who had an outstanding warrant for numerous firearms related charges. He will appear in court on April 23rd, 2024. While at BCC Police also arrested a 19-year-old male as he also had an outstanding warrant for breach of his probation. He will appear in court on April 23rd, 2024.
Vehicle vs Child Accident
On April 22nd at 3:28 pm, police were called to a child versus vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Victoria Avenue. Several witnesses advised police that a four-year-old male child ran from a business parking lot on the north side of Victoria Avenue. The child ran into the side of a trailer that was being towed by a half ton truck. The truck was westbound. The child was transported to Brandon Regional Health Center and then STARS transported the child to the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Intoxicated Person
On April 22nd at 5:00 pm, Brandon police were called to business in the 1700 block of Kirkcaldy Drive. Police say an employee reported an intoxicated female had come inside the business and passed out. A 17-year-old female was arrested and will be released in the morning.
Theft Under $5000
On April 22nd, police arrested a 33-year-old male for Theft Under $5000. Police say on April 21st at 6:24 pm the male had allegedly stolen $170 worth of meat from a business in the 900 block of 18th Street North. He was identified via video surveillance. He was released for court on July 4th, 2024.
Arrest Warrant
On April 23rd at 04:36 am, police conducted a pedestrian check in the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue. An 18-year-old female was arrested as she had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was released for court on April 23rd, 2024.
Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking Methamphetamine.
On April 21st at 0433 am, Brandon police conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Victoria Avenue. Police say officer spotted a small number of unmarked cigarettes. The 36-year-old female driver and a 33-year-old male passenger from Saskatchewan were arrested. Police say a further search of the vehicle resulted in locating 602 grams of meth, a small amount of ecstasy and $500 cash. The female was held for court and then later released to appear in court on June 13th, 2024.
