New statistics out show that almost half of you would purchase your childhood home if you could and the thing stopping most from doing it is the cost. They just can’t afford it at today’s prices. My parents paid just over $6,000 for our home, lived in it for over 50 years, and sold it for a whole lot more than they paid. To be fair, they did extensive renovations and upgrades over the years. Couple that with the rising cost of everything and it’s not surprising that the home was definitely a great investment. I’ve got to admit that whenever my childhood home goes on the market that I entertain the idea of what it would be like to buy it and move back in. Then I remember that the people that made it a home are no longer there. I also remember there are lots of stairs and, as I age, stairs and I get along less and less. Regardless, I would love to go in that home again and have a look around.
