Assiniboine College says the upcoming Program Open Houses are aimed at potential future students so they can find out more about the programs and supports available at the college.
“We are always excited to connect with future students and allow them to get a taste for our programs and interact with our college community,” said Erin Lambert, Manager, Recruitment at Assiniboine College. “It is a big decision to pursue a post-secondary education, so having some face time with the people at the college that can have an impact on their success and future career path is meaningful for everyone involved.”
Throughout the events, program faculty will share insights into programs and unique learning opportunities, share the diverse career paths available to our graduates, and discuss work-integrated learning opportunities. Campus tours will also showcase the learning spaces that support our learn by doing philosophy.
“We’re always pleased to show potential new students what our program offers as the leading provider for public safety training in Manitoba,” said Jack Ewatski, Academic Chair of Public Safety at Assiniboine. “Our program has a proven track record of preparing individuals for a career in policing or various public safety entities, with our advanced diploma being a great fit for those with a university credential looking to enhance their skills and knowledge in these specialized fields. We’re eager to show the next generation of police and public safety professionals what your time at Assiniboine and beyond will bring.”
“Agriculture-related jobs are in high demand and we’re looking forward to welcoming prospective students to campus to see how Assiniboine can prepare them for these careers,” said Chris Budiwski, Academic Chair in the Russ Edwards School of Agriculture & Environment at Assiniboine. “Our Edwards School programs train students with industry-relevant skills in not only traditional agricultural disciplines, but the technological and environmental aspects of the ag field that are becoming increasingly significant.”
In addition to information about our program offerings, attendees will learn more about the supports available to our students. This includes scholarships, bursaries and financial aid options that can make the transition to post-secondary more financially feasible.
For the first time ever, we have over one million dollars available to students in scholarships and bursaries,” said Lambert. “We encourage all students to look into financial supports that are available to them in their chosen programs.”
