Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am serious thrift store shopper. I have been an thrifter since I was 18-then it was out of necessity, now and always, it is for practicality, and because it’s just fun, thrifting that is!
An Ottawa man was surprised when his Mom threw him a surprise 40th birthday at their local Value Village, or as we like to call it, “VV Boutique”! Tyler Garvey loves hunting for a vintage bargain, and loves doing so with his trusted thrifter, his Mom, they go every senior’s day to shop. So that’s why Tyler’s Mom decided to ask permission of their local VV and invite his closest friends, set up a table, and have a cake, and yell, “Surprise”!! Yes, he was surprised!
Tyler’s enthusiasm for thrifting is so strong that the Father of one, recently started an instagram account called @ThriftDaddy where he posts his treasures for all to see! I love this concept, would you do it? Our listeners weighed in this morning saying, they would throw the surprise party, but probably at their local antique store, not their local thrift store! Good idea too!
