Tim and I were fortunate enough to take part in the Tim Hortons Foundation Camp day fundraiser at the Brandon’s North Hill Tims location. Tim worked the drive thru handing out hot and iced coffee with 100% of the proceeds donated to Tim Horton Foundation Camps across Canada. They let me call out the coffee orders from the order counter, lordy, it is a lot harder than you think, the Tims customers were patient with me, thank you lol! a BIG THANK YOU to Mackenzie and Brad Pardy along with Rhonda Pardy who invited us to volunteer and help out, brave souls July 17th in Brandon!
Tim played the Tim Hortons Corn Hole game outside with Ethan and his Mom, while I tried to talk to almost every customer from 11am to 1pm, and it was uplifting! I met 5 Saskatchewan families that I actually knew from my days of living in Regina, and a family from Hamilton, Ontario that listened to us on the radio on their way to visit family in Alberta, they wanted to help by buying 13-cups of coffee! That family van full of people all ordered hot and iced coffee to help out Camp Day, thank you friends!
DYK that camp day was kickstarted in 1987 by 58 restaurant owners in Atlantic Canada who donated 24-hours of sales to the Tim Hortons Children’s Camp in Tatamagouche, N.S. That generous initiative grew to all Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada in 1991. I was working in the media in New Brunswick at the time, I was there in 1987, and saw first hand just how important this camp is to kids that are underserved in our communities, the camp in turn helps them reach their full potential. So thank you to each and every person who supported our kids yesterday.
$250 million dollars has been raised collectively by Tim Horton restaurant owners and guests together since 1991, that’s a lot of kids that can go to camp, have that great camping experience, that probably wouldn’t be able to do so, without Tim Hortons and YOU!
Cheers,
Shelly and Tim
