I love to read, and I can honestly relate to this photo! I am always reading for work, but for pleasure, I love a good autobiography, especially if it is politics genre, I find it a fascinating insiders look inside the mind of say “The President of The United States of America”. Believe it or not, I bought President Barack Obama’s latest book entitled, “A Promised Land”, for 75-cents at a thrift store in Manitou, Mb! And you know it retails for a lot more than that in book stores, and on-line! Regardless of what the price is, I read it from front to back, all 800 plus pages of it this weekend at “Our Happy Place” Rock Lake, Mb. I have been an Obama fan since he was a Senator in Chicago, but this book, which I could not put down, left me feeling that President Barack Obama is the most hopeful, hard working President in our modern times. It is a cliffhanger, and page turner, and beyond anything, I have ever read!
Our media business is fast paced, so if I get the chance to unplug from my cell phone, which I do when I am at Rock Lake, and I get to read, that is the icing on my proverbial cake!
My family and I took many walks with our dog Amos, golf cart rides to the Lake and back, cooked over an open fire, and even had a special cocktail day on Saturday for my Husband and myself…pure relaxation bliss.
Whatever you did solo, or with family and friends on this long weekend, I hope you were also able to recharge your batteries, smell the roses, so to speak; and kick back and rest and relax! These are the dog days of summer, which by the way are slipping away all too quickly!
