Okay, this is not my core group of Baldur girlfriends, pictured here, but it could be us, well the laughing and eating part anyway!
For the past 26-years, a group of 10 of us, some years,it has been a much smaller group, get together once a year for a weekend to reminisce and be together to stay connected. My Baldur girls have known me since I was in kindergarten, vice versa.
When I was living in Toronto, I was so homesick for Baldur, and Manitoba; I started contacting this core group of girlfriends to connect, that was in 1997, the year my Father passed away. It took me a year to track down everyone, and to try and get everyone to connect at home, where we grew up! Beginning in 1998; we have stayed at various locations through-out the years, and it doesn’t matter where we stay, but that we stay connected! This group of girls are family to me, we are scattered all over Manitoba for the most part now, it is just a matter of cinquing schedules.
This year we are meeting at my favorite place, my happy place Rock Lake, Manitoba on August 24th. I am smiling writing this, because we are so closes, some of us, just have to look at each and we burst out laughing-you know who you are…some of us, are the doers, some of us are the dreamers, the photographers, the cooks, the comics..you get it!
I hope you are are still connected to your childhood friends! Because time spent together, is priceless!
