RCMP Major Crime Services are investigating multiple homicides that occurred earlier today near the community of McCreary.
At a press conference, the RCMP said at approximately 10:10 on the morning of Friday, August 16, they responded to a report of a deceased man on Road 84 West in the RM of McCreary. They found a 41-year-old man dead from a self-inflicted wound.
A half-hour later, while on the scene, they received another call to search for a 37-year-old woman and do a well-being check. They searched the woman’s residence and did not find her. When they investigated another nearby residence, they found a 66-year-old woman, a 65-year-old man, and a 35-year-old man dead. Their deaths are being investigated as homicides.
After a search, the woman for whom they were initially searching was found alive at about 1:00 in the afternoon. She was taken to hospital as a precaution.
According to RCMP, the individuals are all known to each other, the incidents are related, and police are not looking for any additional suspects.
RCMP Major Crime Services along with Ste Rose du Lac RCMP and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
