The 59th Labour Day Classic between The Green and White and the Blue and White in Regina, Saskatchewan, is sold out! This has been a Long Weekend Labour Day tradition in my house since my kids were born over 30-years ago. I worked in the media; and lived in Regina in the 90’s, and heading over to then Taylor Field, now Mosaic Stadium to see the Saskatchewan Roughriders play The Winnipeg Blue Bombers was a game we never missed! We always took our kids, it was such party! Of course now that I live back in Manitoba, I am cheering for my home province team, The Bombers. My kids still cheer for the Rough Riders, and instead of going to the game, I watch it on TV. Still get the same thrill of the game, the rivalry is fierce in our house!
What’s your family Long Weekend tradition? Is it a backyard fire, smores? Bbq with family or friends? That last camping trip, there’s also free entry at all Manitoba Provincial Parks this weekend too?
Whatever you do this Labour Day Long weekend, be safe on the highways, respect our Famers and their harvest equipment on the Highways, and take your time, to take in the last few days of summer while we can!
Cheers,
Shelly and Tim
