Pattison Media radio stations Q Country 91.5 and 94.7 Star hosted another successful ‘Hampers of Hope Christmas Radiothon’ at Brandon Shoppers Mall this past weekend (Dec 6 & 7).
This year’s local charities were Samaritan House Ministries food bank, the Salvation Army and pet rescue organization Funds for Furry Friends, and the radio station’s listeners’ donations will go a long way to making it a brighter Christmas for those who benefit from the work of these three groups.
Samaritan House says over the two days of ‘Hampers of Hope’ they received $7,066 in cash donations and 185.5 kgs of food. The Salvation Army totalled $3,500 in monetary donations and 64 new unwrapped toys, and listeners donated $3,771.45 to Funds for Furry Friends (FFF), as well as pet food and toys. FFF says this was a huge jump from $1,200 raised in 2023 and will be extremely helpful for the rescue.
Q Country & Star also gave those who donated a chance to win a couple of sweet draw prizes. Congratulations to Kirby Williamson of Alexander who won a $100 gift card from Reesor’s Jewellery in Brandon, and to Kristina Manness of Brandon who won a pair of weekend passes with camping to North Dakota Countryfest!
Thank-you to everyone who came by and made a donation! Merry Christmas!
