Theft Under $5000 / Arrest Warrant – Breach of Probation
On December 18th at 12:02PM an employee of a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reached out to police indicating a male and female were in the store and concealing items. Police attended and located the pair. The 42-year-old male was wanted on an endorsed Brandon Police Service (BPS) Warrant of Arrest and charged with Theft Under $5000. Female, 32, was charged with Theft Under $5000. Both were released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of February 27th, 2025, for the female and January 13th, 2025, for the male.
Breach of Court Order – Prohibited Driving / Failure to Comply with Release Order X2
On December 18th at 2:26PM police conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 18th Street. The operator of the vehicle, 29-year-old male, was found to have a prohibited driving condition. A knife and ammunition were also allegedly found in his possession – contrary to his Release Order. The vehicle was seized and towed. The male was arrested and held for court in the morning on December 19th, 2024.
Assault
On December 18th at 4:03PM police became aware of an assault that occurred in the 1000 block of Assiniboine Avenue where a 22-year-old male had reportedly hit his girlfriend on December 17th as well as punched her in the ribs on December 18th. The female’s safety was ensured, and the male was arrested. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 16th, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
On December 18th at 5:28PM a female caller informed BPS that she was in the front parking lot with her 26-year-old son who was reportedly ranting and wouldn’t get out of her vehicle. Police attended and removed the male. He was held in detention cells and will be released once calmed down.
Impaired Driving / Operation Exceeding 80mgs%
On December 18th at 8:27PM a call of a minor single vehicle accident at 4th and Rosser Avenue came into BPS where a vehicle had hit a snowbank. Witness stated the operator appeared intoxicated. Police attended and 32-year-old female driver blew 170mgs% and 160mgs%. Vehicle was towed and driver’s license was seized. She was released to her boyfriend on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 23rd, 2024.
Breach of the Peace
On December 18th at 9:35PM police were called to a disturbance in a home in the 500 block of 6th Street. A 14-year-old male youth was arrested and held in detention cells to prevent fighting further with family. He will be released to a caregiver once calm.
Arrest Warrant – Possession of Weapon / Failure to Attend Court / Resist Arrest
On December 18th at 10:42PM a persons check was conducted in the 100 block of 10th Street with a 22 year old male. It was confirmed the male had an endorsed Warrant for Arrest. When told he was under arrest for the warrant, he took off running. He was arrested after a brief foot pursuit. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 16th, 2025. New charge of Resist Arrest.
