This album, I urge you to take a listen; “The Border Brass-Tijuana Christmas” is memorable to me. My late Father used to put this LP on while he was popping popcorn on the stove to string that popcorn on our family Christmas Tree. It was our “decorating the Christmas Tree music”.
Looking back it seems like an odd choice, as my Dad was Russian and my late Mum was Ukrainian, but heck it worked!
Dad would write Merry Christmas on the picture window with that frosted snow in the can! We would then decorate the entire tree when the Canadian Christmas parade was live on TV from Toronto, we didn’t care where it came from, we just wanted to see Santa! We topped the tree with a dreamy Angel with fluffy wings.
Tim says it’s not Christmas until he hears “I’ll be Home For Christmas”…that is special and hits most of us, in the heart strings!
