On December 22, 2024, at approximately 7:40 pm, Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a report of a snowmobile collision on private property, located approximately six kilometres north of Rosebank.
Officers, along with EMS, attended to the scene and were advised that a 10-year-old boy, who was operating a snowmobile with a group of family members, had side-swiped a fence causing him to lose control of the snowmobile where he then collided with a tree.
The 10-year-old boy, who was wearing a helmet and other safety equipment, was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Pembina Valley River RCMP, along with a Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
