-The Winnipeg Jets are in Toronto this afternoon against the Maple Leafs – it starts at 1:00 pm. Winnipeg is coming off a 5-0 win over Minnesota on Saturday.
The Brandon Wheat Kings return to the ice this coming Friday (Dec 27) when they host the Regina Pats.
-The Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings made it 4 wins in a row to finish off their pre-Christmas schedule with a 4-3 OT win over the Winnipeg Thrashers on Sunday. With the win, Brandon improves to 23-2-0-2 to remain in 1st in the league 3 points ahead of the Winnipeg Bruins. Next action for the Wheat Kings is January 3rd when they visit the Parkland Rangers.
-In the PWHL – the defending champion Minnesota Frost edged the New York Sirens 4-3 in a shootout.
-Canada wraps up the World Junior Hockey Championship pre-tournament schedule with a game against Czechia today. Canada won its first two games against Switzerland (7-1) and Sweden (4-2), and kicks-off the tournament on Boxing Day against Finland.
-In the NFL on Sunday – the Minnesota Vikings beat the Seattle Seahawks 27-24 to improve to 13-and-2. Tonight – the 5-and-9 New Orleans Saints visit the 10-and-4 Green Bay Packers.
