-Canada shutout Germany 3-0 yesterday at the World Junior Hockey Championship. Up next, a winner-take-all game on New Year’s Eve between Canada and the U-S for Group A. The winner earns top seed in the group – and a more favorable matchup in the knockout stage.
-The Brandon Wheat Kings return to action tonight (Dec 30) in Swift Current against the Broncos. Brandon downed Moose Jaw 5-2 on Saturday. Brandon is back home Wednesday (Jan 1) against the same Swift Current Broncos.
-The Winnipeg Jets host the Nashville Predators tonight. Winnipeg beat Ottawa 4-2 on Saturday. The Jets have won three straight games, and have points in seven of their last eight games.
-In the PWHL – the Ottawa Charge beat the New York Sirens 3-1 on Sunday.
