Manitoba RCMP report that a 22-year-old man from Virden is in critical condition in a Winnipeg hospital after a train-truck collision on Sunday afternoon.
Police say officers from the Reston and Melita Detachments responded to the crash, which occurred at 2:50 pm yesterday, about 5-kilometres east of Virden and south of the Trans-Canada Highway. The victim, the driver of the pick-up, was initially taken to hospital in Virden, and then life-flighted to Winnipeg.
CPKC Police have taken over the investigation.
