-The Winnipeg Jets shutout the Dallas Stars 4-0 Thursday night. The Jets need to pick up just one more point in their final 3 games to clinch both a division and a conference title for the first time in their NHL history.
-Canada blanked Finland 5-0 at the women’s world hockey championship on Thursday. Canada plays Switzerland today.
-The Brandon Wheat Kings have won the first-overall selection in the WHL U-S Priority Draft lottery. The draft will be held on May 8th.
-After the first round of The Masters – Justin Rose was atop the leaderboard at minus 7. Canadian Corey Connors was in a three-way tie for second at minus 4.
-The Boston Red Sox avoided the sweep beating the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Thursday. The Jays begin a weekend series in Baltimore tonight.
