Blue Origin’s first all-female NS-31 crew returned safely to earth after making their historic voyage. The mission spent a total of 10-minutes and 21 seconds in space, spending several minutes in zero gravity Monday
The crew lead by Lauren Sánchez also included Katy Perry, Gayle King, Amanda Nguyễn, Aisha Bowe, and Kerianne Flynn.
After touching down in West Texas, Gayle and Katy both took a moment to kiss the ground in appreciation for being back on land while other crew members exited the capsule to cheers and applause bringing some of them to tears.
The launch also had some famous faces in the crowd including Gayle’s BFFs Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian, Katy Perry’s fiancé Orlando Bloom, and of course Sánchez’s fiancé and founder of Blue Origins and Amazon, Jeff Bezos. At one point, Oprah covered her eyes and looked worried.
Tim and I both agreed, we would only take a couple of pictures, but would then want to be present for the rest of the 10-minute outer space journey! So cool!
