Dauphin police have seized meth, cocaine, and Zopiclone following a pair of arrests that stemmed from a firearms call.
According to police, they got a call on April 13 at about 2:45 PM of someone being threatened with a firearm on Ida Street. When police arrived on-scene, they were told a 17-year-old male had fled after pointing a firearm at a 23-year-old female.
Police said they searched for and then found the youth male in question, and also arrested a 16-year-old female in the course of their investigation. They said their search of the suspects turned up the following:
- 130.3 grams of meth – estimated community value over $26,000
- 8.2 grams of cocaine and 5.5 grams of crack cocaine – estimated community value $900
- 17 pills of Zopiclone – estimated community value $350
- Canadian currency
Police added despite the help of Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) Marook, they were not able to locate the firearm.
The 17-year-old male, from Ebb and Flow First Nation, faces Weapons and Drug Trafficking charges, and was remanded into custody.
The 16-year-old female, from Dauphin, faces a Drug Trafficking charge and was released with a future court appearance.
Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
