On May 5, 2025, at approximately 8:44 PM, Brandon Police Service (BPS) responded to a report of a stabbing at the Brandon Correctional Centre, located at 375 Veterans Way.
According to a media release today, BPS says “a 41-year-old male inmate stabbed a 47-year-old male staff member twice in the back. The injured staff member was transported by ambulance to the Brandon Regional Health Centre. The injuries sustained are considered non-life threatening.
Brandon Police Service is deeply concerned for the well-being of the staff member injured in the recent incident at Brandon Correctional Centre. Our thoughts are with the individual and his family.”
The Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
