Country superstar and classic guitar aficionado Brad Paisley’s latest achievement is close to his heart.
The “Whiskey Lullaby” vocalist has partnered with Fender’s custom shop in Corona, California, to release 67 limited edition versions of the 1967 “Lost Paisley” Telecaster guitar.
Paisley is also developing 19 additional guitars as a tribute to the year of the original creation.
The 67 from the Custom Shop will be sold through Fender’s dealer network, while Paisley’s 19 guitars will be available exclusively through his channels.
The six-decade-old guitars released in Paisley Red and Blue Flower finishes were Fender’s “answer to the counterculture moment of the ‘Summer of Love,'” according to a press statement. “Adorned with vibrant colors and a matching metallic burst, these guitars stood out with a bold psychedelic flair.”
The instrument also has a custom ‘60s Oval “C” shaped maple neck, round-laminated maple fingerboard, Seymour Duncan “Lost Paisley” Telecaster Pickups and a Glaser “G” Bender System.
Other premium features include 7.25″ (184.1 mm) radius; 21 narrow tall (6105) frets; Modern Tele wiring; three-way switch, ’67 Telecaster bridge with Glaser Bender System; vintage-style tuners; bone nut; wing string tree; period-correct Fender strap and certificate of authenticity.
“This project is a true reflection of the long-standing relationship between Brad and Fender, and our shared passion for the Telecaster and its legacy,” said Ben Blanc-Dumont, director of artist marketing at Fender’s Nashville offices. “The ‘Lost Paisley’ Telecaster is a love letter to the country music community that helped shape Brad’s sound and continues to influence artists across the world.”
“From the very beginning, there has always been a pattern following me, from the moment they wrote my last name on my birth certificate. It’s unreal that my own name is one of the coolest finishes I think Fender has ever done. This is an attempt to show what this lost color could have been. It’s the best guitar I’ve ever had,” Paisley said.
