U.K. police believe the Liverpool car incident Monday, was not terrorism.
A car plowed into a crowd of Liverpool fans during a parade celebrating their side’s Premier League soccer title-hospitalizing 27 people; 4 were children, with 2- seriously injured. Police say; a 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene, he acted alone.

King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in Ottawa Monday, for a 2-day visit. The highlight of this Royal homecoming will take place later this morning; when Charles reads the speech from the throne— the first time a monarch has done that in Canada since 1977.

The Province is funding an expansion and updates to the Regional Airport in Virden; that will create new jobs in Westman. Municipal and Northern Relations Minister Glen Simard announced Monday that $1.65 million is going toward the Virden Regional Airport to allow the community to accept commercial and medical flights like the STARS Air Ambulance; and a new Automated Weather Observing System and support for 24-7 medical transfer flights and charter services.

A Manitoba politician says he thought he was within his right to push a silica mine 2 years ago. Monday-he apologized for his actions. The ethics commission says Jeff Wharton and 2 other-PC members; violated the conflict-of-interest law; and should be fined. No comment from former premier Heather Stefanson, and former deputy premier Cliff Cullen.

Meantime… Maple Leaf has the ‘utmost respect’ for Heather Stefanson and is standing by its appointment of her; as an incoming corporate director of its spinoff Canada Packers Inc. The food giant says they were aware of the ethics investigation before appointing Stefanson to the board.

Manitoba farmers are past the halfway mark for seeding season. As of yesterday, provincial seeding was about 57 per cent complete in Manitoba. The Keystone Agricultural Producers say overall, they are optimistic for a good year and for most Manitoba producers are expected to wrap up seeding on time or ahead of schedule.
