A 38-year-old woman from McCreary faces multiple charges, many of them related to firearms, after an arrest by Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP.
According to an RCMP release, they were called at about 2:45 AM on June 5 to a report of a person pointing a firearm inside a residence on 4th Avenue in McCreary. When they arrived at the scene, the homeowner told police a woman (who they knew) had threatened her and her two children with a firearm. The 30-year-old victim and her two children had gone to a neighbour’s house to call police.
Officers brought in RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), and Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) to help search for the suspect. They quickly found her outside a residence on Broderick Street by using the drone, however police said the firearm was not located. Officers and PDS Marook were able to safely arrest the suspect without incident.
Lacey Campbell, 38, of McCreary, has been remanded until a court appearance and charged with Pointing A Firearm x2, Assault x3, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purposes, and Uttering Threats Against a Person x3. She is presumed innocent.
Police added there were no serious physical injuries to anyone inside the residence.
