-The Edmonton Oilers beat the Florida Panthers 5-4 in overtime last night to tie the Stanley Cup final at two wins apiece. Game 5 goes Saturday night in Edmonton.
-Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck has won his second straight Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top netminder, and also captured the Hart Trophy as the league’s most valuable player. He’s the first goalie to claim the Hart since Montreal’s Carey Price a decade ago.
-The Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened the season with a 34-20 win over the BC Lions. The two teams meet again next Saturday in BC.
-In the Southwest Baseball League – Reston beat Virden 5-3.
-The Toronto Blue Jays are in Philadelphia tonight for the start of a weekend series against the Phillies.
-The Indiana Pacers host the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight for Game 4 of the NBA final. The Pacers lead the championship series 2-1.
