-For the second time in three years, a Brandon Wheat King was selected in the top ten at the NHL draft this past weekend. Forward Roger McQueen went tenth overall to the Anaheim Ducks. Forward Brady Turko was also picked by the Ducks, while Carter Klippenstein went to the Minnesota Wild.
-In the CFL on Sunday, the Toronto Argonauts beat the Ottawa Redblacks 29-16. The 3-and-0 Winnipeg Blue Bombers play again this Thursday when they visit the Calgary Stampeders.
-The Toronto Blue Jays downed the Boston Red Sox 5-3. The Jays open a home series against the New York Yankees tonight.
